The Obama administration delivered new guidance on medical marijuana to federal prosecutors Monday, signaling a broad policy shift that will mean fewer crackdowns against dispensaries and the people who use them.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. instructed government lawyers that in 14 states where medical marijuana use is legal, federal prosecutors should focus only on cases involving higher level drug traffickers or people who use the state laws as a cover story.
"It will not be a priority to use federal resources to prosecute patients with serious illnesses or their caregivers who are complying with state laws on medical marijuana...
Chalk another one up in the plus column...
This is a good start. The problem comes with the problems that have occurred in California. There are doctors that will issue 'prescriptions' merely for the asking. Mexican drug cartels are supplying the marijuana for the 'clinics'. Much of the marijuana has been found to have dangerous levels of insecticide on them. The effects of the insecticide are intensified by vaporization and inhalation.
Mexican drug cartels are supplying the marijuana for the 'clinics'
This is patently false.
Clinics are supplied by certified growers. The patients who patronize theses clinics would never accept the poor quilty product the Mexican cartels would provide.
To the patients, this is medicine, crappy medicine does not alleviate pain as well or provide the other types of relief that they seek.
You need to talk to the District Attorney for Los Angeles County. He has presented the proof.
The majority of "patients" have been proven NOT to have a medical condition that really qualifies for medical marijuana as an indicted treatment.
You'll pardon me if I'm a bit skeptical of "proof" offered by someone with a vested financial interest in finding wrongdoing. Of course, I'm willing to look at any evidence.
Link?
The effects of the insecticide are intensified by vaporization and inhalation.
Are you saying that vaporizing the insecticides is more harmful than smoking them? If I could get a source for that, I've never heard that vaporizing could potentially be worse for you.

Who just hapens to be a self-promoting ass.
This guy never saw lie he couldn't buff up to look like the truth.
Sorry, it's just not true for legit dispensaries.
I will say that illegal operations attempting pose as legit dispensaries should be busted and closed.
What is the source for the marijuana for the "legitimate" pharmacies? It is illegal to grow is it not?
Until the law is actually changed, to reflect the FACTS, there will still be major problems from brainwashed drug warriors and their like.
Bravo!!
